Technical Information

1
Guarantee
All our tents are guaranteed for 2 years of normal use (your receipt or loyalty card is used as proof of purchase). In the event of a problem, have your tent checked out in your local Decathlon store. 2-year guarantee.Spare parts and pole repair available at Decathlon workshops.
2
Wind resistance
We test all of our tents in a wind tunnel with a rotary table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly assembled tent with all the guys in position around the tent should remain habitable under wind speeds of up to 50km/h at ground level (Force 6)
3
Entry/exit
Front flap, easy and efficient access: big D-shaped flap with single zip. No need to climb over your mates on your way out.
4
Ventilation
Fly sheet with 2 side panels that can be moved apart and hooked onto the side guy ropes (opens from the inside). Air can circulate in the room. The bedroom's whole rear fly sheet can be raised from the inside by pulling on a cord. 2 spaces between the flysheet and the ground on either side in the middle of the bedroom to allow air to circulate and to keep the natural build-up of condensation to a minimum.
5
Poles, pegs
Poles: solid fibreglass for excellent break resistance. Tent pegs: 5mm galvanised steel pegs for good twisting resistance.
6
Waterproofing
All Quechua tents are laboratory tested: the WHOLE TENT under 200 litres/hour/sqm (200 mm/hour) for 4 hours! as well as in a test mission. (2000 mm PU-coated polyester fly sheet, 120 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet, all seams sealed using thermobonded tape). A breathable polyester inner tent under the flysheet means you aren't in contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.
7
Pitching/folding
Quick installation. Free-standing tent (place it wherever you like, and if there's no wind, no need for pegs = ready to use!). Easy folding using our "easy" guiding system.

Product test
QUECHUA tent waterproofing is approved for the whole tent under 200 litres of water/hour/sqm (200 mm of rain per hour) for 4 hours. The water column test (=mm schmerbers) only measures fabric waterproofing. Our test means we can prevent any water getting through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. Wind resistance: We test all of our tents in a wind tunnel and on a rotating plate to expose each side of the tent to the wind. Tested in real conditions.

Stockage tips
STORAGE - after use or cleaning, do not store your tent until it is PERFECTLY DRY to prevent odours and mould from forming.

Our response:
Dear Customers and Users,

You will be pleased with your Fresh&Black tent owing to the freshness and darkness it provides.

You may have noticed small holes on the tent canvas. This is not a product fault. Simply, a waterproof white seam line, used to assemble the panels of the lined canvas of your tent.
To guarantee tent waterproofing, this seam line is covered with a watertight, heat-bonded and translucent strip which allows the light to pass through the small holes of the seam.

The Black component which provides darkness is not completely uniform, so some tiny spots of light can be seen. This does not affect the waterproofing nor the overall tent obscurity (confirmed with laboratory tests).

completely useless due to pack size
Used for 1 week or less
This tent can only be used as a car camping tent as it does not pack down like a normal tent, instead it packs down a meter wide circular pack.
NOWHERE on the webpage is this stated and so the tent is completely useless to me as a backpack hiker.
I have contacted decathalon several times to complain about this and all I receive is an automated response about returning it to a store. This is impossible as I do not drive, live miles from a store and the tent only has a single carry handle. So my options are spend a few hours travelling to a store or spend £15 on return postage simply because decathlon did not make it clear that this is not a backpacking tent.

Extremely unhappy with decathalon's customer service. Most of my camping stuff comes from decathalon but I will not be using them at all in the future or recommending them to fellow campers
SMALL TENT
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Not bad easy to set up and pack up
Excellent tent
Used for 1 week or less
Fantastic tent easy to put up. Just spend five minutes following the instruction on how to put away and it is quite simple.
Incredible!!!
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I've not been the biggest fan of camping until I used this tent! Three of the biggest things that 1) I've hated about camping is the amount of light that other tents allow inside the pod, 2) a lot of tents get very hot during the day, if its sunny, and 3) the fact that other tents take ages setting up and taking down. The 2 Second Black and Fresh 2 person tent covers all of these issues. 1) This tent does an incredible job reducing a lot of the light that gets into the tent itself. 2) The layers of the tent keep the inside a lot cooler in the sun than other tents do and 3) The tent honestly takes two seconds to sent up and another minute to put the pegs in.
Definitely worth every penny spent on it and I'm looking forwards to my next camping trip!
great nights sleep
Used for 1 week or less
I bought this tent for taking my children camping and we had a great first weekend.
The tent can be set up in under a minute, extremely easy.
There is plenty of room for 3 adults and lots of great features such as the air vents and windows which can all be functioned from within the tent.
The best feature was the "fresh and black". This keeps the inside of the tent cool during the day and blocks most of the external light. My kids slept till 9am and had to be woken, the neighbouring tent were awake at 5am when the sun rose.
There was no condensation in the tent, which I was very surprised at.
Packing the tent away is almost as quick as putting it up, but I would recommend having a trial at home first. the main issue is just having the confidence to fold the tent and poles, but once you have done it you realise they are really strong but flexible.
I highly recommend this tent, especially for introducing kids to camping or would be ideal for festivals.
Great Tent
Used for 1 week or less
I was very happy with the quality of this tent. Very easy to put up & after several dry runs of dismantling, it became easy to fit back in its bag.
This was a good purchase
Used for 1 week or less
Folded up easier than expect and actually keeps the light out a very good product
Comfortable but Poor Finishing
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I've been writing this review on my country's Decathlon Taiwan on 28-11-2016 but they refused to reply me until today. The service is poor! Below it's the same message I sent to them.
"The advertisement below the product page was promoting how good the tent is, it can withstand in any harsh weather even in rain. Therefore, I've decided to purchase one and give it try. For the first journey, it was pleasant. The interior of the tent keep cool although the outside temperature is hot. This should give a thumbs up. What is annoying was when I go for my second trip the next weekend. I saw some holes between some edges around the tent, it does not affect much. But I've lost confidence in the finishing, loss threads can be noticed all around the corner. I'm afraid the tent will fly off one day. Is this consider in the 2-years guarantee? Overall, I feel that this is good tent." This is the link if you need, http://www.decathlon.tw/zh/hiking-c115199.html
Keep cool under sun.
Build quality is a little poor. Can be improved.
Great tent but with fatal flaw....
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I really like this tent and agree with all of the positive reviews already posted. However, if you have any aspiration of collapsing it back down so it will fit into the bag, then do not buy it. I, and some of my friends, spent over an hour watching the bloke in the video and trying to copy his technique. I gave given up and it is now wrapped in plastic in the shed. Unfortunately I will not be using it again as its small size when folded was essential for when I go away. A real shame.
Double skin, dark inside, easy to put up
Collapsing
brilliant
Used for 1 week or less
took this tent to cub camp as a quick and easy tent for me and my little boy (6) to sleep in. My heart sank at the torrential rain we had and was not expecting to have a dry sleeping bag. I was amazed that it survived, the inside was perfectly dry! 2/3's of the district camp went home as their tents didn't cope at all. The only downside was the lack of porch but next time i'll take my awning and try that.
Pitch black in the morning - bliss
Nice and dark in the morning
lack of porch
