Really pleased with my scooter. Its easy to fold and easy to use. It is good quality and nicely put together. Best of all, it allows me to keep up with my kids! Its amazing how quickly you can get places when you're all scooting. I love it!
Sturdy and stylish. Usable for 7-8 yrs kids as well as adults. Very comfortable. Braking could be better though, it’s not as efficient It’s foldable, but folding is not an easy task. Needs considerable effort.
Works as advertised but bottom over centre lever will not stay locked. Handle bars not in line with the wheel.
I hadn’t ridden a scooter since I was a kid and am now 52 years old.
I chose this model for myself while buying a similar one for my daughter as a Christmas present.
I’ve had it about six weeks now and have ridden it a lot for those ‘last mile’ journeys. It folds easily to carry onto public transport, I don’t use the strap as it looks a bit fiddly. It takes no more than a few seconds from folded to rideable and back again, once you get used to it, the handlebar stem has markings so you can easily get the same adjustment each time.
Riding is just as you’d imagine and with front and rear suspension it takes the worst out of uneven pavements, beware though if you hit anything too big on small wheels you could come a cropper, that said I ride over drop curbs, pavements and those indicator paving stones at pedestrian crossings without any problems.
The specification Says it is good for 100 kg, well I’m north of that figure and the suspension rarely bottoms out, with age this may change but hopefully as it wears I’ll lose a few pounds and it will keep going strong.
The kickstand was a breeze to fit and works well on level ground,
The brake on the handlebar is surprisingly good and the foot brake is excellent, however if the pavement is wet then do expect braking distances to easily double, ride slowly and watch for obstacles and other people, it really doesn’t stop fast on wet surfaces, then again if you weigh 60 kg it may stop quicker for you.
Overall I’m very pleased with my scooter, I wanted the 10 but it wasn’t in stock so I saved about £50 and don’t think I got any less of a scooter.
If I was buying again I might look for something with bigger wheels, with blow up tyres, especially for longer rides but at this price this is a great scooter.
Very good and quality is also great. We need colours
Good value, very solid, folds easily once you have the knack - happy with purchase.
Very sturdy scooter! Bought for my 9yr olds birthday as she's very tall and she takes it to school most days. Loves it
Good price as reduced in sale. The scooter itself is sturdy and brilliant to ride. We got the child stand attachment for the school run as well.
Good shop to have such experienced and helpful staffs, good choices and quantity of products, unique compared to sarounding shops, and good value/price for their product. Inadition to maintanace of cycle and scooters.
Have just taken it out of the box and it will not fold back down. The lever will not move up or down, it seems impossible. Please help.
I am sorry to hear about your bad experience with Town 7XL scooter. In order to fold the scooter, first open the security lever (on the left side of the scooter), then push the button on the right side of the scooter. It will allow the scooter to fold easily. Remember that you have a 2 years warranty in case of a manufacturing defect. Please contact your local Decathlon store or the online loyalty team who will be more than happy to assist and discuss the matter directly with you in more detail.
Once again thank you for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
